Rahul Gandhi travels by local train in Mumbai

Mumbai: Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi arrived in Mumbai on Friday morning amid tight security. He choose the route of the local train to reach Ghatkhoper from Ville Parle thus the Gandhi challenged the Shiv Sena to protest against him.

rahul-gandhiGandhi addressed the workers of youth congress at Bhaidas Hall in Vile Parle and then headed towards Andheri railway station. He traveled from Andheri to Dadar by western railway and Dadar to Ghatkopar by Central railway.

After that he is expected to reach Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar in Ghatkopar East for a function.

“We were not informed in advance about his travel by train. However, Railway Police Force were there to keep a vigil,” Western Railway PRO C David told PTI.

Rahul was accompanied by his security personnel.

“He got into a first class coach of a Kalyan-bound train at Dadar and is expected to get off at Ghatkopar which is four stations away,” Central Railway PRO A K Singh said.

Meanwhile the Shiv Sainiks tried to show Rahul Gandhi black flags near Mithibai College junction and DN Nagar in Andheri. The police have arrested several Shiv Sainiks including zonal chief MLC Anil Parab. (Agencies)
